Swingers cruises from Europe in 2027: what is actually sailing

A week at sea, a different theme every night, a new port every day and nobody on board who isn't there for exactly the same reason. For many couples in the lifestyle, a swingers cruise is the big one. What fewer people know: most of these sailings leave from Miami or the Caribbean. From Europe there are only one or two a year, and the best cabins go months ahead. Here is an honest look at what is announced for 2027 and what to check before you book.

What is a swingers cruise?

On a lifestyle cruise, an organiser charters a whole ship or a large part of it. Everyone on board has booked that specific sailing on purpose. You will usually find:

• Couples only, or couples plus women travelling alone. Single men are usually not accepted on the European sailings.
• Clothing-optional areas around the pool and on deck.
• Theme nights with a dress code, parties into the early hours and workshops during the day.
• A playroom: a private area for encounters, with clear rules.
• House rules on consent, photos and discretion that every guest accepts in advance.

In port you are ordinary tourists. Anything intimate stays on board.

Sailings announced from Europe

This is what was publicly announced as of October 2026. Dates and ports can change, so always check the organiser's own site.

Killing Kittens "The Dolce Vita", 10 to 17 July 2027. The London events brand sails Azamara Onward from Venice via Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Giardini-Naxos in Sicily and Sorrento to Civitavecchia near Rome. Their first cruise in June 2026 was open to couples, solo women and trans and non-binary guests, but not to single men. Expect something similar in 2027.

Desire Lisbon–Morocco, September 2027. Desire Cruises is known for luxury, couples-only sailings. The route on Allura runs from Lisbon to Cádiz, Casablanca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Funchal in Madeira. As of October 2026 there is only a waiting list.

Desire Rome–Trieste, September 2028. Newly announced, for those who like to plan far ahead.

For comparison, 2026 had two big European sailings: June from Barcelona and August from Trieste.

What does it cost?

It isn't cheap. According to press reports, the 2026 KK cruise started at around €5,500 for an inside cabin and went up to roughly €13,700 for a suite. Desire usually includes a drinks package. Add flights, gratuities, excursions and travel insurance on top. Prices for 2027 are not published everywhere yet, so treat these figures as a rough guide.

What about the Caribbean?

The big ships with thousands of guests sail almost entirely from Miami, Fort Lauderdale or San Juan. From the UK that means a long-haul flight, a buffer night before embarkation and a higher total cost. In return there are many more dates each year, including short four-night "taster" sailings.

Is a cruise a good first step?

Worth knowing: nobody has to do anything on board. Plenty of couples mainly enjoy the atmosphere, the parties and the open conversations, and keep to themselves.

Checklist before you book

• Agree your boundaries first. What is fine for you and what isn't? Mid-ocean is a bad place to negotiate. If terms like soft swap or same room are new, see lifestyle terms explained.
• Read the house rules, especially on photos, phones and the dress code for theme nights.
• Book only through the organiser or an official agent. Avoid "deals" posted in forums without a booking confirmation.
• Decide early. Good cabins can go a year ahead. A waiting list can still be worth it.
• Travel insurance that covers cancellation.
• Packing: outfits for the theme nights, comfortable daywear, sun protection and your own condoms.

Don't arrive as strangers
