The Vanilla Alternative, often shortened to VA2, is a private members' lifestyle club at The Anchor Lodge Hotel on the Great North Road in Tempsford, Bedfordshire. The club has a large hot tub, a dungeon, playrooms, a couples-only room, a bar and a dance floor, and the site also offers hotel rooms, camping pitches, a shuttle bus to nearby hotels and parking for around 200 cars; in summer a garden lounge with an outdoor hot tub opens as well. Fridays are open to couples, single women and a limited number of pre-booked single men, while Saturday nights are for couples and single women only. There is also a daytime session on the first Wednesday of each month, a monthly bi and LGBTQ+ night, and Festival of Fun weekends in May and August. You need to apply for membership before you can book.
When it's open
Fri 20:00–02:30 (couples, single women, pre-booked single men); Sat 20:00–03:00, last entry 23:30 (couples and single women only); first Wednesday of the month 11:00–17:00; monthly themed nights and festival weekends per the online timetable.
House rules
Members only: apply online before booking; guests 21+. Consent first, no touching without an invitation, no means no. No phones or recording devices in the club (reception can help in an emergency). Licensed bar, so no own drinks; random bag checks. Zero drugs. Limited places for single men; no-shows must prepay next time. Ask staff for a 'Vanilla Cocktail' to get discreet help.
Dress code
Men: collared top, smart trousers or fitted jeans, smart shoes; no branded sportswear, trainers or ripped or baggy jeans. Women: club dress, lingerie later. Play areas: underwear, towel or robe. Bring a towel for the hot tub.
